I chose medicine because helping others to help themselves and empowering them to make better healthcare decisions seemed like a potentially rewarding career, and lucky for me I chose well because I look forward to coming to work every day to do just that.

If I can better help the patient to understand their disease process and what it can lead to and how to either reverse course or at least improve the natural course of the disease process and we are able to make a meaningful difference in their quality of life, that is what is very rewarding to me.

I have worked 17 years with a primary focus of cardiology and consider myself quite knowledgeable in that specialty, but having done so in the hospital, where l I have had to take care of the whole patient. I am versed in helping to manage their high blood pressure, their high cholesterol, and all the other many conditions that those with heart disease tend to have as well. I look forward to bringing my experience and skills to primary care.

I attended ECU for both my bachelors and master’s degrees.

I enjoy playing video games with my son, and traveling with my family.  I personally enjoy scuba diving and have for many years been slowly working towards getting my private pilot's license.
